Tab Key Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 9, 2026

Tab Key handles data only to provide keyboard-first tab and tab group controls in Chrome.

Data handled

Tab Key may process current-window tab information, including tab IDs, positions, pinned state, and tab group IDs, when you request a tab or tab group action. Tab Key also stores popup action key mappings.

How data is used

Tab Key uses this data to move tabs, toggle pinned state, create or remove tab groups, close the current tab group, and move the current tab into the nearest group on the left or right.

Storage

Popup action key mappings are stored in chrome.storage.sync so they can follow your signed-in Chrome profile. Tab Key does not store browsing history, page content, credentials, personal communications, or payment information.

Data sharing

Tab Key does not send tab information, settings, telemetry, analytics, or any other user data to a developer server. Tab Key does not sell user data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties.

Permissions

User control

You can change popup action key mappings from the extension options page. You can remove all extension data by uninstalling Tab Key from Chrome.
